Beating Burnout: Lifting Up Lament
Bottling up your emotions could lead to burnout.
Yet, sometimes we hear we should only express happy thoughts.
In some Christian circles there are false beliefs that say ‘if you’re a true believer, you should always be happy,’ or that ‘feeling sad means you’re not really trusting God.’
So, this Sunday we’re going to dive into how lifting up our lament – basically, openly expressing our sorrows – is important for our emotional, spiritual, and community well-being.
Lament is scriptural. It brings our burnout in conversations to God.
